Western Sydney Wanderers FC, supported by the Wanderers Foundation, is proud to announce the Future Wander Women Program is back in 2023. With the FIFA Women’s World Cup fast approaching and rising interest in the world game on Australian shores, the program is an opportunity to be discovered, mentored and developed as the next superstar in Western Sydney.

Program Outline

The Future Wander Women Program will build on the skills that players already possess while teaching them new skills and techniques to improve their game based on the club’s highly regarded coaching curriculum.

  • Trained by our highly qualified coaches, the Wanderers coaching philosophy is player-centric and driven with the outcome to provide players for our Liberty A-League Women, and national team
  • Trials for selection will be held on:
    • 5 April 2023 5:30pm (Ages 10-12)
    • 12 April 2023 5:30pm (Ages 13-14) & 7:00pm (Ages 15 – 16)
    • 13 April 2023 5:30pm (Goal Keepers)
    • Trials are based on the age you are turning this year. Eg. You are turning 13 this year you attend the 12th April.
  • The program runs as 20-week blocks across Terms 2 and 3 of the school calendar year on Wednesday nights:
    • Term 2
      27 April – 14 June  
    • Term 3
      19 June – 20 September

  • Trial days will be held to choose the final 60 participants
    • 30 participants in the 10-12 year age group
    • 15 participants in the 13- 14 year age group
    • 15 participants in the 15- 16 year age group
    • Goal Keepers will be selected in addition to the 60 outfield players for the program (Please note goal keepers will only be for ages 14 and above)
  • Players will be taught the same skills and methods as the Wanderers Academy players
  • An opportunity to identify and transition players into the Wanderers Academy
  • Open to girls only
  • The first day of the program includes a player and parent/guardian induction session
